Does this sound familiar?
You're capable, but the grades aren't showing yet
Dry classes, more hours, same result
You spend hours on the material but don't know what's actually being tested
Most tuition centres add more hours. We find out why the hours aren't working.
How we fix it
The step-by-step approach that helps 1 in 2 of our students see distinctions.
1
Diagnosis
Most centres start teaching immediately. If you're getting a C, they assume the problem is practice — and drill more practice. But it's often something else entirely. We find that out before we teach anything. Then build a plan around what we find, not a standard syllabus.
2
Personal Tracking
In a class of fifteen, a tutor teaches and moves on. There's no way to know if you understood it or just stayed quiet. At HYCO, classes are capped at six. Your child's tutor tracks grades, homework, and progress every lesson. You won't have to wait for the final exam to find out if it's working.
3
Continuous Assessment
Teaching and learning are not the same thing. A student can follow every step of a lesson and still blank under exam conditions. Every session, tutors check for understanding by making the student apply the concept — not just asking if they get it. If it doesn't stick, we go back. If it does, we raise the difficulty.
The team behind your results

Nick
Founder · Sciences & Math
A Berkeley scholar with a background in finance and biochemistry. Nick has spent 6 years in the classroom and built the HYCO curriculum from the ground up — designed specifically to turn passive students into independent ones.

Kah Meng
Teacher · Sciences
A former Physics HOD with a PhD in Materials Science and over 10 years in the classroom. Kah Meng helps students see how concepts connect across the syllabus, until Chemistry & Physics stops feeling like isolated facts and starts making sense as a whole.

Thomas
Teacher · Sciences
With a background in nutraceuticals and a 7-point O-Level aggregate, Thomas knows this syllabus inside out. He teaches Biology by breaking down complex processes into clear, logical steps that students can reproduce under exam conditions.

Sean
Teacher · Language and Humanities
Sean is a Yale-NUS graduate and Oxford exchange scholar with a strong background in the humanities and social sciences. His teaching focuses on helping students think critically, structure ideas clearly, and develop confidence in the subject.

Jeremy
Teacher · Language and Humanities
Jeremy is a PSC scholar and an ex-lawyer. With a strong foundation in language and argumentation, he has helped hundreds of students sharpen their writing, express ideas clearly, and approach Economics and English with precision.

Which years do you teach?
We teach Years 1 to 6: Years 1 to 2 — Lower Secondary / Grades 7 to 8 Years 3 to 4 — Upper Secondary / Grades 9 to 10 Years 5 to 6 — Junior College / Grades 11 to 12
When and where are classes held?
In-person classes are held at our Beauty World or Bishan outlets. We follow a term schedule with an average of one lesson per week. Full schedules are shared upon enrolment.
How much does it cost?
Years 1 to 2 — $75-85 per lesson Years 3 to 4 — $90-105 per lesson Years 5 to 6 — $107-120 per lesson Free trial available. No commitment required.
What is the duration of each class?
Years 1 to 2 — 1.5 hours (all subjects) Years 3 to 6 — 2 hours (except for combined sciences — 1.5 hours)
What resources does my child get access to?
Every student gets in-house notes written by our tutors and unlimited question sets targeted specifically at their weak areas. We track each student individually so they spend time on what actually needs work, not drilling topics they already know. The result is more progress in less time.
